To try out my so called "new toy", we tested it out at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa last Saturday. It was already 5.30pm by the time we reached there where the crowds began to grew. We let Sofea go round around the park as she please while at the same time wifey played with her bubble gun toy to get Sofea moving on her feet. And at the same time while trying out the new toy to capture a few candid photos of Sofea. So here's a few of the results. So what do you think? Is it worth to spend a few thousand ringgit on a DSLR camera?
CLick on the photos to see the bigger picture. Enjoy!!!

80s cartoon rocks!
How happy and excited i was yesterday when TV9 and TV2 in Malaysia aired one of my favourites childhood cartoon of all time. He-Man and Voltron. Damn those cartoon rocks man. I tell you, the cartoons aired in tv now can never match the superiority of the 80's cartoon.
Sure the animation wasn't as good compared to today's cartoon, but there's something about them that can keep you glued to the sofa and you have no trouble to watch them over and over again.
So for those in Malaysia who missed it, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983) aires everyday at TV9 at 2.00pm while Voltron Defender of the Universe (LionBot) aires at TV2 every Sunday at 5.30pm. Don's miss it.
ps: does anybody know where i might get a hold of their dvd's collection?
Petter Cullen (Optimus Prime) is the voice over in the Voltron opening theme

Hobits and Gigantor
I came across this picture which was taken from Utusan Malaysia's Utusan online. What do you think about this picture? Is it just me or does Pak Lah seems a lot bigger compared with the other two guys. It's like comparing Gandalf with Frodo and Sam. And why aren't they even facing eye to eye? Is the picture genuine or could it be the cameraman used some sort of super lens??? Best guess is that it's a superimpose pics. Their hands are also blurred.
I am not implicating anything, it's just that the picture looks funny and odd. That's all

My new toy ...
Well, actually it isn't quite mine. But since i requested it last year in the operating plan for the office, so i guess it's kinda mine except that it does not belong to me entirely. I just get to use it, that's all.
The toy that i'm talking about is the Canon Digital EOS 40D digital slr camera. I've always wanted one of this for my self but like they say, "belum ada rezeki". I have been snapping some nonsense photo in the office as i am not sure what to snap. I do plan to test it out door if given the chance. This thing is damn big and heavy. Never expected it to be this heavy as compared to the Nikon D40. The price i believe was around Rm 2900. It comes with a 17-85mm lens kit.
I am still trying to figure out how to optimize it's usage with the manual setting. But if all fails, then there is always the fully auto mode that so far has never failed.
Both images had to be resized as the file size for each file was nearly 4mb. Imagine that. It can't even fit a diskette. So what do you think???

Working
Just finished work and the time is 4.15am. Technically i have worked for 17 hours and no sleep. Currently waiting for the truck that carried our items back to the office. After that unloading them to the office and making the office more smaller and crowded then it already is. What a day huh!!!
But one thing for certain is that today i am the first to sign the attendance and 4.05am. Woohoo, first to sign in and so early in the morning. I guess something good does come about sometime. Ok, then the items are here and it's time to unload the stuff and complete the job.

Padang Merbok
Today is the second day that i have to park my car at the old faithful Padang Merbok parking lot. In short, now i have to reach to the office before 9, swipe my attendance and drive back to Padang Merbok to catch the last shuttle at 9.15am and i will be in the office at approximately 9.24. So if anybody is looking for me, wait till it's 9.25am ok. In previous month i have been spending RM4 per day to park my car at SK Hisamuddin. Unfortunate for us, the schools PIBG finally barred us from parking at their compound. It's not that we're parking there for free. We're paying for it.
Their arguments is that parents who wants to pick up their children don't have a proper place to park their cars thus parking their cars by the roadside. Welll duhhh!!!. I've been monitoring the parking lot for 2 days now and there were roughly about 5 cars that did park in the parking lot to pick up their child. The rest still park by the roadside. Hopefully the traffic police can take proper action and make them use the parking facilities that was once ours!!!! *Evil LOL*
As at the previous year, the charge was RM3 per day and later increased to RM4. I roughly estimate that the school can generate an income of RM400 per day.
This is what they will loose out:
RM4 x 100 cars = RM400.
RM 400 x 5 days = RM 2000
RM2000 x 4 weeks in a month = RM 8000.
Yup, that is the rough figure of the income that the school will be generating if they were to keep in business. Minus the cost of two security guards and you can still have a lot more to fund the school activities rather then raising funds and donations.
The only people who can park their car at the schools are parents, and that's if you have a child studying there. Makes me wonder whether i want to send Sofea to school there. Hmmmm????
The positive side of it is now i am saving RM4 per day. The negative side, i will have to spend a few extra minutes to be on the shuttle which i guess total up to about 30 minutes per day.
So my message to them, "Let us park at the school. You don't know what you're missing" but thanks a lot Padang Merbok for providing us with the parking lot.
p/s: the place is getting kinda crowded lately
