The room rate was RM95 and it had 1 twin bed and 1 single bed. Cannot complain much as i don't think there were any rooms available in the hotels nearby. Once we checked in, me and Sofea went out for some pisang goreng as pointed out from the Garmin nearby food locations. Yup, it was delish but i still think the pisang goreng bawah pokok in PD tasted better.
Later that night, we went out for Dinner at Tesco. There were more cars here compared to Tesco back in KL. It took us about 30minutes to finally park our car. Didn't Taiping used to be a town of quiteness filled with retired people?
Anyway, we had our dinner at Jom Bali. The food was okay though. After dinner, we went back to take a stroll of Taiping in the car. As there were not much thing that we could do, we decided to rest at the hotel. Suprisingly, at 10.45pm, the traffic is quite heavy for a small town.
The next morning, i went out for a walk to buy breakfast. There was a mamak restaurant nearby that had nasi lemak and also roti canai. Good enough for breakfast. We finally checked out at 12pm and head towards Zoo Taiping where Sofea will get her first experience going to the zoo. It's my third visit to the zoo actually.
After parking our cars and purchased the tickets, we started off with our zoo exploring. There are a lot of animals which a zoo normally has. So we tried visiting each and one of them. The crowds there were quite huge. It can even match the crowds in Hong Kong Disneyland i guess.
But one thing not in the liking is Sofea kept on saying nak kokong which means carry me. Oh man!!! But what to do, i guess i just have to kokong her. It was a very tired stroll down the zoo where in the end, we went back to the entrance and que for the train. It's not a matter of seeing the animals anymore, but just wanted to take a ride in the train.
The girl in the red dress is Sofea's twin
After finishing our little trip, we had our lunch at a chicken rice shop back in town and finally found Maybank which had moved from the town to a place nearby Doli. Folks in Taiping should no Doli. My GPS map did not have Doli in their navigation.
So after reloading our Touch n Go, we went back to KL ending our mini cuti-cuti Malaysia. A few things i noticed have changed since my first visit to Taiping back in 2003. The flyover has been completed, new Giant and Tesco and the Maybank have moved. Yeayyy!!!
Note: I love my N95 even more with this Garmin Mobile XT GPS
