We went down to APSH last Saturday to visit Sofea's pedeatrician, Dr Haliza. I dropped of wifey and Sofea at the lobby at 10.30am and headed to the parking lot next to the hospital because the hospita's car park was full. Hmmm, ok. No problem. So, as i was about to walk towards the hospital and i got call from wifey asking where am i now. So i told her i'm on the way. She sounded like it was our turn but ..... Actually we were the 14th person in line to see the doctor. And i asked her what is the current number and she replied, " Belum start pun lagi !!! " ( it hasn't even started yet )... What the ?!!!
So we went to have our breakfast first at the Ritazza caffe. 30 minutes have passed by and we just had to check what number is the current patient. The nurse then replied no 1. Hmmm, if that's the case, roughly if one person spent 5 minutes, it would be around ( 12 x 5 ) 60 minutes = 1 hour.... Damn that's long. So we decided to go and jalan-jalan at the nearby shops, namely Cash Converters and Ampang Point.
We took a look around in the shops and have identified the stuff that we want to buy. Without wanting to carry excess baggage for the time being, we headed first to Ampang Point and decided to purchase the items later. We browse through the shops in Ampang Point for about 40 minutes before heading back to Cash Converter to pick up the items that we wanted to purchase.
By the time we got back at the hospital, the clock was already showing 12.20pm. Wifey had asked the nurse what is the current number and it was number 10. Wow, that was long. So we had to wait for another 40 minutes before it was our turn. I even bumped into some old friends while taking Sofea for a walk, and both of them came later after me but finished sooner...
When it was our turn, i roughly calculated it couldn't be more then 5 minutes. Come to think about it, maybe around 3 and a half minute. We brought sofea in and she was put at the weighing machine. BTW, she is now 9.8kg with her clothes on. After weighing her, she was jabbed for chicken pox if i'm not mistaken. Then it was all over. The whole process did not even went for 5 minutes. But how come other people went in so long with the doctor?? What are they doing in there?? Another mystery of life that i wish to investigate in the near future...
So all in all, the appointment with the doctor was way fast, but the time you have to wait to meet her was way long. Two and a half hours. We could easily catch a movie and still have enough time to get gack for the appointment. I would like to suggest to hospitals management maybe put up a small cinema area for us people waiting for our turn. That could easily kill the waiting time. And the hospiltal lobby and parking were full of people just like it was some sort of shopping mall or something. So i guess hospital could be marked as a new hangout place. All they need to do is put up a small cinema, a free wifi zone and a Starbucks coffee :)

Microsoft Word's Maximum Page
Ever wondered how many pages you can type in a Microsoft Word pogram??? Then read on...
I was trying to dump or restore a mysql data into a database server. Unfortunately the data query file is 140MB and this xampp sql query thingy couldn't support the size. So, in an act of curiosity wanting to find out why the data is so huge, i attempted to open the sql file in Microsoft Word and left it running while i went for Friday prayers.
After i got back from prayers, i got this message from MS Word saying that my data has exceeded the Microsoft Word'c capacity. And the maximum page Microsoft Word can handle is......

Marilah mari, kita mengundi
I was having lunch with a few of my colleagues today, and the topic of conversation for today is on the upcoming 12th General Election. Which made my head playing the famous mengundi song.
Marilah mari.
Kita mengundi
Jalankanlah kewajipan
Pada negara....
ps: who ever has the mp3 version can u please pass it to me :-)

They were all talking about the politicians and the party's fate. Who will be contesting, who will not. Can this guy win in this place. Will the guy continue to contest in this seat or move to a different seat. You know, that sort of stuff. I'm sure we were not the only one who was discussing of this during lunch time. For me, i just like to listen. But it's up to you to filter out which is good, which is not and which is correct correct correct... Hehe...
Back in 1999, i was once driving my mom and niece (Nadia) to her school and we stopped at a traffic light near Gurney Heights construction site. The road was filled with flags by Barisan Nasional's blue flag and Pas's green flag. Blue and green. Posters were hanged all over the place. The road sign, the road lights, shop houses, trees. Even the road had posters and flags (from the one that had fell down).
And then Nadia asked my mom,
" Nen, kenapa ada banyak bendera (why are there so many flags)".
My mother then said

"Sebab ada pilihanraya. Orang kene pilih parti mana yang diorang suka. Yang warna biru tu Barisan Nasional, yang warna hijau tu Pas". (Because there is an election. People have to chose which party they like. The blue is Barisan Nasional and the green one is Pas).
She then continued,
"Nadia suka parti mana?" (which party do you like).
Nadia then replied honestly,
"Nadia suka parti yang ada kek" (I like the party with cakes).
There it struck me. How clean and pure a little girl's heart could be. Not siding to anyone. Not knowing anything that was happening back then. Back then there were sounds of political unstability after the sacking of the former Deputy Prime Minister. Many had jumped ships, many had even jumped ships and then jumped back in. New parties were formed. A few street demonstrations, cursing, swearing at one another. But all this little girl could see was a party with cake.
It makes you wonder that if only the world were ruled by little kids, then only there would be peace and harmony in the world. (The Petronas Merdeka commercial had a point). I am disgusted by street demonstrators that had bring along their small little children in their demonstration rally. These kids have the purest of heart. How you see them in the future is how they are brought up today.
This shall be my second time voting. I've already check my status in the spr website and i am gazetted. Yeayy!!! You can check it out to at http://daftarj.spr.gov.my.
So vote and contribute to the nation. Vote, even if it's for the wrong person.....

Sofea's 1st Birthday Bash
Saturday 16th Feb 08 was the official celebration for Sofea's first birthday celebration. This was not an open invitation so i apologize to everyone who was not invited as my fortress of solitude cannot accomodate everyone. Only family members plus one or two was invited. Maybe next time if we move to a bigger house.
The preparation began as early as the day before where the "kemas rumah event" took place. On Saturday morning the, first thing i did was to Cuci ( clean ) the toilet as that is another major attraction to the party. After cleaning the house, me, wifey & sofea head straight to Ampang Point to pick up the ice cream cake that was book by wifey the day before. She said the price was RM80 and it could feed more then 10 people. Hmmm, ok i guess. Not that expensive. But by the time we reached there, it was a totally different story. The so called cake was tiny and in my honest opinion could only feed around 5-6 people as the estimated crown was around 15. After a few rounds with wifey, finally she decided to go ahead with the Baskin Robins ice cream cake. The price, RM 130 not including tax. Waaaahhh!!!!. In the words of papa, "Orang gila je yang beli kek ni". So i guess we won't be having that kind of cake anymore for a very long long time.

After finishing up with the cake business, straight we headed for Taman Melawati to try and find the mysterious Nasi Tomato that was usually served on Nadia & Aiman's birthday. Unfortunate for us as the exact location of the Nasi Tomato is still unlocatable. So the next plan was to change to Nasi Beriyani from Syed Restaurant. Thanks to Shana for buying the Sate Samuri for us or it will cause us some more time.
Reached home and after having lunch, made the final preparation. Wifey cooked her pasta. I set up the table, pour on the rice, sate, preparing the Sirap Soda and everything. All was in tip top condition and the first knock on the door was at 5.05pm. It was our neighbour next door. Unfortunately, the star of the day was still not ready. She was only wearing her dypers as she was going to have her bath. So our neigbour decided to come later and that was good for me as i too was not ready. Luckily my mother in law came early and could entertain Sofea while we were getting ready. Finally, everything was ready by around 5.30pm. The crowds started with the arrival of wifey's siblingns, and then continued with Jie & Zekri, Mama & Papa and finally around 6.15 the arrival of Nadia & the gang. With the arrival of everyone, we could start the party.
The party started with singing Happy Birthday to Sofea. Because she couldn't blow the candle, her mommy did it for her. Yeahh, we have an eyewitness who is willing to testify. Hehehe ( Aiman, bukan nama sebenar). Because the cake is damn expensive, a lot of people started with the cake. In a few minutes time the cake was already cut off into half. Hmmm, this is what they call demand > supply. So, the party continued with everyone enjoying their meal.
At around 7pm the presents were open. Sofea had little help from her small friends to open the presents. So these are the summary of presents.
- Atok - RM 1000 cash (thanks papa. I love you. Your'e my friend 4 eva)
- Nan - Mattress ( cool bubble type mattress)
- Auntie Suzy, Uncle Achid, Nadia & Aiman - Bruin toys ( a combo of piano type toy and block - block)
- Aunti Jie & Uncle Zekri - Bruin toy & Croc sandels ( Music type toy & very expensive shoes. Thank u very much)

- Wati (Wifey's friend) - cash money. Thanks
- Meet Uncle Hanif - fish knocking toy. Thanks mate
- Mom & Dad - Dancing turtle, Tonka toy cars, flash card, bubble soap gun and Bruin toy with lots of activities
After Sofea had her bath and went to sleep, it's time for us to clean up the mess. The final dish was finished around 1230am and then we lied down flat to the ground. It was a tiring & hectic day for all 3 of us but the end result was worth it. All i can say is we are just lucky for now as birthday celebration only comes once a year, that is until we have another baby in the near future. Insyaallah.
Thanks to everyone who came and for the presents.

Adriana Sofea's 1st Birthday
Today is Sofea's 1st birthday. How time flies. Day in and out, for all you know she's grown up so fast. From being a very small baby, now she could walk, talk, eat and soon climb & run around the house.
Since there is no party at the moment, i thought of compiling Sofea's picture from birth till her 1st birthday. Enjoy!!!

Birth of a child : A new life experience
It has been 364 days since my life and status has changed. Status from being a hubby 1.0 has been upgraded to hubby & daddy 2.0. And let me tell you that with the application upgrade, there isn't any uninstal or undo features that came with it. In malay they call it sign mati. I would like to share some chronological event that i have gone thorugh from being just a hubby to being a hubby & daddy for the first time.
At exactly 1 year ago last year (10 Feb 2007), i took wifey for the regular medical checkup at APSH with our Gynea Datuk Dr Ashar. The medical checkup was a usual appointment and it seems to be normal as usual except for the day before that wifey showed to me a blood stain on her panty liner. Now, according to an article that she read somewhere, one of the signs of delivery is blood show. Hmmm, for me i thought that it was some sort of a show which means that basically it is more than a dot of blood. So i told her that couldn't be it but i guess that was the peak of the show...hehe...silly me.
She told the doctor the symptoms and as usual, the cool doctor indicated that it is normal. He also asked whether wifey was in pain or some sort but that wasn't the case. So therefore, the doctor just said it is not time yet. The time will come when you are in pain. So ok then, i guess we'll just have to wait until the pain kicks in. After the checkup around 12pm, we wanted to see a movie at MBO, Galaxy Ampang. But for whatever reason, the cinema was closed. So we did not managed to catch a movie.
Our next plan was wanting to hang out at One Utama to enjoy our favorite dish, the TomYam Spaghetti at Old Asia Restaurant. But since it was a hot afternoon, we decided to just eat somewhere closer and later to One Utama on the evening. So we had lunch at Tjampuhan restaurant at Jalan Gurney. After lunch, we head out straight to home. We lied on the bed an eventually we both fell asleep. I woke up sometime around 530 pm and found out wifey was still asleep. Not wanting to wake her up, i went outside to the living room and put on the Playstation Worms Armageddon Cd. That was the last game i played before upgraded to daddy 2.0...hehehe
So around 7pm, wifey woke up and told me she was not feeling rather well. After a while she said, aduuii, sakit. (pain). At that time i was still not sure wheter it's the real deal or not since we have experienced so many false alarm and minor contractions before. So i guess it was time to start the timing. At first it was around 13 -15 minutes interval but mainly constant. Hmmm, so could this be it?? Could this be THE ONE??? So at that time, all we had to to was time it. We had to abandoned the plan to go to One Utama. Nooooooo, the tomyam spaghetti.. NOOOOOoooo!!!! ... we just ordered Dominos Pizza instead.
At around 820pm, wifey received a phone call from a lady from StemCell. She wanted to explain the benefits of Stem Cell etc etc... since her timing was completely off, there were times that wifey had to cut her off for a while and said, "ermmm kak, boleh tunggu kejap. Saya tengah sakit contraction ni".... AAAARRRRGGHHH.... and then continued again with the conversation. Hehehe... the contraction pain was usually around 40 seconds. Also, when she wanted to take her bath, she had to wait till the contraction pain was over and the quickly to the bathroom before the next wave strikes back.
The contraction went on and on that night. According to a Johnson & Johnson's book, usually it is quite a while before the real delivery time. The book advise to relax first at home, try to get some sleep, have a shower before going to the hospital. I tried my best to keep my wifey at ease. Hug her and pat her back, that sort of stuff. All i could do was trying to ease her burden down. If i could take some of her pain, i would have. So the situation continued on till the next morning. Wifey asked me to get some sleep but i just couldn't rest myself down seing her in that situation. She stayed up all night, lying on the bed, standing up, crouching and all sort of stuff. Inspite all that she did manage to finish the movie, Bend it like Beckham which was showing on TV.
Contraction chart shows off the scale
Finally at 5am on 11 Feb 07, i woke up and she agreed that it is time to go to the hospital now. While she was taking a shower, i prepared roti bakar for a light snack just in case if she was hungry. After getting ready and all, we had our last breakfast together before going straight to the hospital. The contraction interval was closer then. Probably around 7 minutes. So with everything ready, i brought her straight to the car and with my luck, all the traffic light was green from Wangsa Maju straight down to APSH. The total travelling time was probably around 10 minutes, which is way faster then the usual time.
Once we reached at the parking lot, it was just our luck. The elevator wasn't working since it was only 615am. Dammit. But wifey said she could walk to the emergency area and so we did. She was taken up to the delivery room on a wheelchair. The nurses there started putting all the sensors on her tummy to measure the contraction level. The machine was like the one used in measuring earthquakes....hehe...Incredible, it was off the scale. I was also asking them for epidural but unfortunately then, the surface was already 5 cm opened which means that if the epidural would only have an effect of 30%. We had already pass the point of no return. One she was settled in, i went down and registered her. Managed to call both mamas to inform them of the situation and asked them to pray.
When i came back, the nurses had already punctured her waterbag. She was already lying on bed helplessly. I was feeling very weak and sad that i could do more to help. If i didn't make her pregnant, none of this would have happened. Once in a while she would put the laughing gas mask when the contraction started. I was feeling rather clueless on what to feel. If i felt sad and breakdown and cry, then it might give a bad impression to her and Melemahkan semangat. On the other hand, if i made some happy and silly jokes to cheer her up, she might get angry. Ermmm hello, i'm in pain here.... So i tried my best to hide my true feelings and was hoping that she would get thru this. It's all in her hands now. All i could do was give her the best support during the time of the contraction.
After about an hour and the surface has finally opened up at 10cm, it was time to push the baby out. Then, there was still no doctor. All there is was the 2 nurse that was attending to wifey. I was feeling rather worried at that time. I was also in the labour room with my dockers T-shirt, jeans and sandals. Isn't that i'm suppose to wear some sort of clothes that you see people wear in TV show??? So everytime the contraction came, the nurse would ask wifey to take a deep breath, and for about 14 seconds, push as hard as you can. It was like that for the few minutes. I could see the baby's hair on the surface but it just couldn't go through. Wifey was also feeling very week at the time. Luckily she had enough energy to push whenever the contraction came attacking.
The famous Phua Chu Kang boot, worn by our gynea
Finally at around 845am the hero of the day arrived. The doctor came with a red t-shirt, brown pants and shoes. In a split second (like Gaban), he transformed himself into a butcher???? Yes, that's right. He strapped on his yellow rubber boots like the one you see in Phua Chu Kang and tied down an apron which looks like a baby's beep. Hmmm, i didn't know that. All his equipments were already made ready. So when the contraction came attacking, i saw him taking the scissors and simply cut open the surface to make a bigger path for the baby to pass through. Strangely enough he did not use any bius and i saw wifey did not feel a thing. Hmmm, it goes to show that the contraction pain was a much more painful then a scissors cutting you.
With the surface finally enlarged, one final push did the job. And there it was, a very tiny human being screaming down her throats. Ngehhh Ngeeehh ngeeehhh. It was grey in colour. It had 10 tiny fingers and 10 tiny toes (kuku kaki). It was the cutest thing ever and all of a sudden it was in the room out of nowhere....hehehe.... There were also tears in my eyes while seeing the baby cry on top of wifey's tummy. The time of birth was 9.05am. The baby had the most beautiful face. Her eyebrows were perfect as seems that it was drawn using eyeliner.
The baby was later put on a special place where it was warmed up. The nurse cleaned her up and used some sort of vacuuming tube to suck down the flames in her mouth and nose. After wrapping her up, the baby finally kept quiet while her eyes were still shut wide. Then it was time. The time for every muslim father to do his obligation which is to Azan and Qamat the baby. The nurse asked me to pick her up but i didn't know how. So the nurse carried the baby for me and put them in my arms. And then there it goes.... Allahuakbar Allahuakbar.... the sound of my voice broke the silence in the room. At that point of time, i swear to myself that i was going to do everything in my powers to raise her and to protect her against all odds. There was also that same feeling like the one in Lion king where Simba was raised by his father. Yeahh, that sort of feeling. Wifey was a very strong and cunning woman. I respected her a lot for her courage, determination and inner strength. I know she was in real pain, but for the love of the baby, she managed to channeled everything out. Tabik springgg.....
Finally giving back the baby to the nurse and the doctor finished sewing wifey back, it was all over. The moment that we were waiting for has passed by and both of us were upgraded to parents 2.0. We manage to overcome it. All the challenges that we face was finally over. No more nausea, morning sickness, worrying when the baby might pop out and all. We went back to our normal lives except for the additional of a very special family member which was later named, Adriana Sofea.

IQ Test - Searching for intelligence life form
Many of my colleagues and myself will be having an IQ test tomorrow to see if we are still relevant to the Bank...hehehe.. It's called the Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices (RAPM) test. One thing for certain is that it's not related in any way to the That's so Raven tv show. hehehe....sorry bad joke. So for a start and preparation, we did some iq test to measure our intelligence. It comprises of 39 question with a time limit of 40 minutes. You guys can check it out at http://iqtest.dk
It reminded me of the iq test that i took way back in Standard 6, that was about 18 years ago. The questions are quite similar. You know the one that gives you a few shapes and you figure out which should be the next shape. That sort of stuff. The first few was quite simple but the final 3 questions were sure a mind drilling one. And the results are.....
I scored a 112, which categorized me as HIGH IQ. Not enough to put me in the Mensa Level but Wooohooo!!! There are intelligence life form on earth after all. Not bad eh. So far the highest score achieved was 118 by one of my colleagues. What is your score???

Pizza San Francisco @ Wangsa Maju KLSC
We had the opportunity to have lunch last Saturday at Pizza San Francisco at Wangsa Maju KLSC. After pujukan from wifey who wanted to makan sedap, i finally gave in and the 3 of us went there to have our lunch. The restaurant setting looked very cool. The feeling when you step into a Starbucks or a modern restaurant.
I had the mushroom chicken with ice blended cappucino, wifey had the beef steak with ice blended chocolate and Sofea had the fish fingers. Service was relatively good and fast. Though there wasn't many customers at that time. Food arrived after 10min of otdering. Managed to browse through a car magazine while waiting for the dish. So here they are:
One more cool thing that the restaurant has this kind of like a buzzer (they call it personal service) that they stick to the display thingy (the thing that they usually display today's special). I pressed the button just to see if it works. It did not make any sound of some sort but i can hear someone at the counter saying, table 7 calling. Hmm, i think the gadget is linked to the computer and when someone press it, it will beep and show which table is calling. Good alternative instead of raising your hand like you want to answer some question to call for the waiter. Thumbs up!!! You have received the Riezman's innovation award for the week. Hip hip horay!!! The place is also equipped with free Wifi access but i did not had the opportunity to try it out.
The final bill was around RM67 inlcluding tax and all. So overall it was a good place to eat out. Food taste is good. Bon appetite!!

Hair style
Beckham style
Here we have a few sample on how one would look like with a different hair style. Picture one we have Sofea with the Pokok kelapa aka Samurai (Takezo Sensei) with a rubber band and hair clip on top of her head
Picture 2 we have the Beckham style aka bangun tidur style without the need of having to use Brylcreem. So which one looks better, the coconut tree or bad hair day look? Pick a choice.
Btw, the pictures were uploaded from my Nokia N95 from KFC Wangsa Maju. They are now 24hours and equipped with free Wifi Connection. Hooray for KFC Wangsa Maju!!!!
