We went down to APSH last Saturday to visit Sofea's pedeatrician, Dr Haliza. I dropped of wifey and Sofea at the lobby at 10.30am and headed to the parking lot next to the hospital because the hospita's car park was full. Hmmm, ok. No problem. So, as i was about to walk towards the hospital and i got call from wifey asking where am i now. So i told her i'm on the way. She sounded like it was our turn but ..... Actually we were the 14th person in line to see the doctor. And i asked her what is the current number and she replied, " Belum start pun lagi !!! " ( it hasn't even started yet )... What the ?!!!
So we went to have our breakfast first at the Ritazza caffe. 30 minutes have passed by and we just had to check what number is the current patient. The nurse then replied no 1. Hmmm, if that's the case, roughly if one person spent 5 minutes, it would be around ( 12 x 5 ) 60 minutes = 1 hour.... Damn that's long. So we decided to go and jalan-jalan at the nearby shops, namely Cash Converters and Ampang Point.
We took a look around in the shops and have identified the stuff that we want to buy. Without wanting to carry excess baggage for the time being, we headed first to Ampang Point and decided to purchase the items later. We browse through the shops in Ampang Point for about 40 minutes before heading back to Cash Converter to pick up the items that we wanted to purchase.
By the time we got back at the hospital, the clock was already showing 12.20pm. Wifey had asked the nurse what is the current number and it was number 10. Wow, that was long. So we had to wait for another 40 minutes before it was our turn. I even bumped into some old friends while taking Sofea for a walk, and both of them came later after me but finished sooner...
When it was our turn, i roughly calculated it couldn't be more then 5 minutes. Come to think about it, maybe around 3 and a half minute. We brought sofea in and she was put at the weighing machine. BTW, she is now 9.8kg with her clothes on. After weighing her, she was jabbed for chicken pox if i'm not mistaken. Then it was all over. The whole process did not even went for 5 minutes. But how come other people went in so long with the doctor?? What are they doing in there?? Another mystery of life that i wish to investigate in the near future...
So all in all, the appointment with the doctor was way fast, but the time you have to wait to meet her was way long. Two and a half hours. We could easily catch a movie and still have enough time to get gack for the appointment. I would like to suggest to hospitals management maybe put up a small cinema area for us people waiting for our turn. That could easily kill the waiting time. And the hospiltal lobby and parking were full of people just like it was some sort of shopping mall or something. So i guess hospital could be marked as a new hangout place. All they need to do is put up a small cinema, a free wifi zone and a Starbucks coffee :)
