I got my netbook way back in August last year from wifey. It was a gift for my birthday cum anniversary. Fair enough as the prize was quite expensive and it had to be for 2 ocassion. After a few months being in the market, the netbook segment began to boom. A new breed of computers that could do the basic job without the cost of an actual laptop computer. One by one the manufacturer started releasin their models. Mostly all of them offering an identical specs. It was always an Intel Atom processor, Hard disk drive or Solid State Disk, screen size from 8.9" to 10" and so many others.
Please ignore my very the messy workstation
A colleague of mine recently bought one. Being the latest in the market, it had a 10" screen, 160GB hard disk drive, 2GB of RAM, Windows XP Home Edition and it even came with a built in HSDPA modem for mobile broadband. It cost him Rm1750.
My netbook at the time of purchase cost RM1600 for a 8.9" screen, 80GB Hard disk, 1Gb of Ram and Win XP. Another colleague of mine also bought the Dell Inspiron 9, the one bundled with the Maxis Broadband offer. Besides them, there are others out there in my office who also owns one too but did not bring it to the office.
With everyone starts buying netbook, i don't feel quite exclusive anymore. Dammit. :) But all in all, My MSI Wind Netbook still kick their ass baby. Compared to the other 2 models, the keyboard in the MSI is still the best one where you could type on. But from a ladies, point of view for a physical form, it might differ. But hey, looks vs practicality? You be the judge.
